OTOPLASTY

Correct ears position if you find it unproportional
Some patients spend time looking in the mirror and wish to change the appearance of their ears. The shape and protrusion of the ears is something we are naturally born with, but for some, it makes them feel self-conscious or embarrassed. Fortunately, at W Plastic Surgery, we offer Otoplasty to correct the appearance of the ears and help our patients feel more confident.

Could this procedure be
right for you?

A W Plastic Surgery consultation is the best way to determine if you are a good candidate for Otoplasty. Ideally, these patients have ears that stick out farther from the head than they would like. These patients may have even tried pushing them back in the mirror to see what they would look like or tend to cover their ears with hair or clothing. If you feel embarrassed about your ears, this surgery could be for you.

How is this procedure performed?

During an Otoplasty, Dr. Sarah and Vanessa Wong will remove excess skin and cartilage to reshape and reduce the size and projection of the ear. An incision is made at the back of the ear, allowing for skin to be removed. The cartilage is reshaped, so the ear sits closer to the head and is then sutured into place. Sometimes, a row of sutures is inserted to rotate the ear towards the head.
