BLEPHAROPLASTY

Look as good as you feel
The eyes are the focal point of one’s face. They are the first thing people notice and are the key to facial expression. As a result of aging, the loss of elasticity in the skin and weakening of muscles around the eye can cause hooding, protrusion of fat pads, and undereye bags. Fortunately, Dr. Sarah and Vanessa Wong offer Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty at W Plastic Surgery to address these concerns and create a more youthful appearance.

Could this procedure be
right for you?

A W Plastic Surgery consultation is the best way to determine if you are a good candidate for Blepharoplasty. These patients often see excess skin that hangs over the upper eyelid. This skin may even create functional issues by obstructing their vision. Good candidates for lower blepharoplasty see drooping skin and puffy bags under the eyes that give them a tired, dull look. Patients must be in generally good health before surgery and have no medical complications that would affect their healing.

How is this procedure performed?

During a Blepharoplasty, Dr. Sarah and Vanessa Wong will remove and reposition excess skin and fat surrounding the upper and lower eyelids. Not all patients require both upper and lower eyelid surgery, but these surgeries can be performed together when indicated.

Upper Blepharoplasty

During an upper blepharoplasty, the incision line is measured and marked along the upper crease of the eyelid. After the desired excision is accomplished, dissolvable stitches are used to suture the skin closed.

Lower Blepharoplasty

A lower blepharoplasty is slightly more complicated than an upper blepharoplasty and requires an incision just below the eyelash line that runs along the corner of the eye. Excess skin, muscle and fat below the eye are removed and repositioned. The remaining skin is draped tightly along the contour of the eye before the incision line is sutured close.

When do you see the results?

Following your Blepharoplasty, the drooped skin over the eyes is gone, and the wrinkles and bags disappear. Patients look much fresher and have a more open and bright appearance. The results look very natural, and scar lines are hidden along the upper creases and lower lash lines of the eyelids.
